Refreshing Lemon Sparkler

Believe it or not, it’s 80 degrees here in Ohio.  It feels like summer!  I’ve been in the kitchen all day making tasty things to share with you this week, and Darren has been painting the spare bedroom.  We’re both hot, tired, and could use a drink.  So I made these awesomely refreshing lemon sparklers.

A confession:  I usually like to crack open a bottle of white wine over the weekend, but we never manage to finish it.  This is a great way to get rid of leftover wine!  Any white wine will work!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup White Wine, Chilled
  • ½ whole Lemon, Juice Only
  • ¼ cups Club Soda
  • slices of Lemon and Lime, for garnish (optional)

Start with a glass of ice.  Pour in about a half of a glass of chilled white wine.  Squeeze 1/2 of a lemon in each glass.  Add a splash of club soda.  Garnish with slices of lemon and lime, if desired.

I’ll be enjoying this on the patio…until Ohio changes its mind about the weather.
