A review on Alpine Aire Pepper steak and rice free dried backpacking food!
All in all this is by far my favorite. Great taste, great portion and it isn’t pasta! (I find most of the meals are pasta based 🙁 …)
The practicality of these can’t be beat, they are quick and easy for a good light meal. Heck on a double carry portage boil some water toss it in hike the first leg and come back to a hot meal. WIN !
today I'm going to do a review on the Alpine air foods pepper steak with rice and it's our last day we're kind of getting running late packing up getting ready to go so I am starting to feel a bit peckish so we're going to cook up one of these ingredients are rice freeze dried beef corn starch cook beef powder sea salt onion red and green bell pepper natural beef flavor could be felt gum arabic come garlic granules fructose black pepper salt flour and parsley so this one also has good stuff it was just the first one that I reviewed that had some wonky stuff in it wow it looks pretty good smells good so you've got little bits of beef rice and vegetables and same sort of preparation two cups of boiling water stir let stand 10 minutes supposed to serve two people not chatty so I have added the water just going to give it a stir Philip let's turn myself I let it sit longer than 10 minutes I got distracted packing up camp and putting a tent away and stuff all the waters absorbed just tasty but there's a few things that are still a little bit chewy the rice is on the el dente side no biggie tastes good though has a good beefy taste well this stuff was tasty I figure the reason why I was still a little bit chewy just needed a little extra water so I probably go on and generous two cups are two and a half cups even and oh it's really tasty and it's a really good portion okay there's a lot of food in there it's a good to surfing it's not like some of the other ones are it's like two servings and you're still hungry after eating the whole packet
