Preppers I show how to use your dehydrated pumpkin and bonus making evaporated milk.
Pumpkin Pie (2 pies)
1 cup dehydrated Pumpkin and 4 cups of water
1/3 cup powdered milk and ½ cup pumpkin juice or water
10 2/3 oz evaporated milk (recipe follows)
1 ½ cup sugar
4 tsp Pumpkin pie spice
Bake at 375 for about 50 minutes until a knife comes out clean when poked in the center.
Evaporated Milk (approx 10 2/3 oz)
¼ cup and 4 tblsp Powdered milk
½ cup Non dairy creamer
1 cup very hot water
Mix all together until milk is dissolved
okay the first thing that you need to start your pumpkin pie is you need to have evaporated milk and since is this going to be a food storage video we're gonna make our own evaporated milk so what you need for evaporated milk is you need 1/2 cup of non-dairy creamer 1/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons excuse me regular nonfat dry milk and 1 cup of very hot water so what I've done is I put all my ingredients in here and now I'm just gonna add my hot water and mix well so we're just gonna let that sit aside let the milk resolve really well and we have evaporated milk that easy so I've added 4 cups of water to my 1 cup of pumpkin and we're just gonna let that sit for about 20 minutes or so and I'll be back with you ok so will the pumpkin is ready this is the pumpkin after it was baked and this is the rehydrated pumpkin as you can see it bumped up really well and it is darker than the other so let's go ahead and make her pumpkin pies what we need is we need our boat so let's make the fresh pumpkin pie first and I've got my ingredients out here Better Homes new cookbook I'll give I won 16 ounce can of pumpkin so that would be two cups I'm doubling it so I'm gonna make four cups and I'm probably elbow in the way you cameraman hold my camera for me excuse me we need 3/4 cups of sugar so that's 1 and 1/2 cups of sugar for mine we need 2 teaspoons of pumpkin pie spice so that's 4 teaspoons we need 5 and 2/3 ounces of evaporated milk you know I'm short a whole recipe of evaporated milk and make one out for the other one and then I'm using my pumpkin juice did the same thing with this one I've got to make another batch and I'm just using it to instead of water and now I need six things which I forgot to get out I'm just gonna crack my eggs in here I don't like to risk getting the shells what egg on the floor thank goodness I have dogs huh okay so I've got six eggs toss them in and then we just mix it up you can use any pumpkin pie recipe you like we don't have to use mine the measurements of the same 16 ounces pumpkin would be a quarter cup of tea hydrated plus water a half a cup a few hundred is this water so for every quarter cup dehydrated pumpkin it's one cup of rehydrate my crust trying to think how I will market okay so I've got my two pie crusts here and what I'm gonna do I think so that you know I'm not cheating I've got a pin here and I'm just gonna put a s on there and that means fresh now I'm just gonna scoop it in yes I'm messy one of my spices on the side I need my spatula get my spatulas real quick get those spices in there I need my spices see I'm messy all righty so that's the toothbrush we're gonna fit those in the oven at 375 you can put foil around the edge do you like I'm not going to so about 50 minutes and 375 all right now let's make the be hydrated competition let me get the rest of my ingredients ready and I'll be right back all right sign back let's go ahead and make the other pie we need our dehydrated pumpkin that we rehydrated it even smells more like pumpkin all righty this is our pattern milk and pumpkin juice we need our sugar our spices are evaporated milk we're gonna stir it up think we need to start with this now let's take our monster to pie plates and put a deep try to put a D d and let's go ahead and stoop and my pumpkin by liusia just scoop it in and let's bake it in the oven with the other ones and I'll get back to you when we check it out okay so let's make some dream whip from our food storage shelves for our pumpkin pie sire here the ingredients for a half a cup of milk using my powered melt and a half a teaspoon of vanilla and you're gonna take one package of the dream whip or if you have the box of the dream wet the back and then you just scoop out the amount you need and you just a mixer once these are blended and then be on high speed for Foreman blog get back in or never okay I'm looking pies out of the oven as you can see I had a little issue when I turned off the camera and I put the pies in the oven those last two I realized when I turned around and looked at the table I've forgotten my eggs so I had to take the pies out and I had to pour the inside out of it and then put it back in and when I put him back in I slid this tray and the pies sloshed everywhere so that's what the black is around there okay this is the fresh and dehydrated over here so let me get your favorite plate my daughter is gonna try a piece and let me get the whipped cream can you get there's the whipped cream we made and I'm giving two of these away so I'm trying to find which one looks the best it hits these two back ones I'll give away now I am NOT a pie crust Queen so how good my pie crust is going to be alright enough put one piece on each plate you
