A true American classic! Apple pie is great any time! Please be sure to like or subscribe for new videos every week.
To make your apple pie you’ll need:
1 full stick of butter
1/4 cup of water
1 teaspoon of powdered ginger
1/2 teaspoon of powdered cloves
1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon
1/2 cup of brown sugar
1/2 cup of white sugar
1.5 tablespoons of flour
Start by preheating your oven to 425 degrees. Peel and slice your apples in to small pieces. Set aside in some water and lemon juice to prevent discoloration.
Melt your butter over medium heat. Add your 3 autumn spices, as well as the brown and white sugar. Stir until well blended together. Add your flour and stir until consistent. Place your apples in your pie crust and pour the butter/sugar mix over the apples coating them evenly. For a recipe on how to make pie crust please check this link:
Cover the pie and seal the edges by pressing down with a fork. Cut slits in the center of the pie to allow air to vent during the cooking process. Place the pie in the oven at 425 degrees Fahrenheit and cook for 15 minutes. Lower the temperature to 350 and cook for an additional 35 to 40 minutes.
If you use a double crust, cook for 40 minutes on 425. Be sure to cover the edges with foil about half way through to prevent the crust from burning.
