hey guys I am Flo this is the English version of that presentation on Nigeria that I showed a little bit of in my other video my job was to scout the internet and find befitting images videos and music then make a video showing Nigerian history and culture to the Spanish people that came for the event although short notice so please if you see your material in the presentation no copyright Nigeria is the most populous country on the African continent it is in West Africa with Cameroon to the east Republic of Benin to the west neasha Republic to the north and the Atlantic Ocean to the south the name Nigeria was derived from the niger river that runs through the country nigeria has an estimated population of 188 million from December 1991 Abuja became the capital of Nigeria replacing Legos which remains the commercial capital and the most populous city in Nigeria Nigeria gained its independence from Great Britain on October 1 1960 we have over 250 ethnic groups with three main ethnic groups house' in the north evil in the southeast and Yoruba in the West we have over 500 spoken indigenous languages but English is the official language of Nigeria Hausa Ebel and Yoruba are the three main indigenous languages at the moment Nigeria has 36 states with the Abuja Capital Territory at the same time since the oil boom of the 1970s Nigeria's main export is crude oil we also export timba later cocoa pan oil and many more agricultural products our currency is denial it comes in denominations of one thousand five hundred two hundred one hundred fifty twenty ten and five naira one hundred of an IRA is known as cocoa you me Nigeria is known for its rich culture just like we have many ethnic groups our culture is very diverse we will focus on the evil culture our traditional events and for cultural dances the women Tyra has on their chests without a blouse they adorn their head neck and wrists with lots of beans the men wear a jumper shirt popularly known as EC ah go and tie big George Rapha's they also wear red or black hats the red hat is reserved for titled man popular accessories include walking stick ivory traditional hand fan and ha steel even on our dances are very lively and energetic we typically dance in groups women's dance group men's dance group and children's dance group we have several musical instruments drums gongs shakers etc that come together to create melodious sounds that make such happy music that you would want to get up and dance as soon as you hear it [Applause] Nigerian food is known for its richness and variety mostly made up of warm fought recipes made with rice YUM potatoes and beans then sources that we eat with foo-foo-foo-foo is mashed meal made from yarn plantain potato cassava and other staples different spices vegetables Hot Chili Peppers and herbes are often used with palm oil or granite oil to prepare delicious soups and sauces Nigerian party foods are some shortly rich and elaborate and street foods cooked on barbecues or fried in oil are very popular one of the major foods in Nigeria is young we plant the yams at the beginning of the rainy season which is in March or April and harvest from July we then store them in bands we prepare young with vegetables we eat it with sauces or with red palm oil palm oil is extracted from palm fruits there are various oil palm plantations in Nigeria have you seen my beautiful baby have you seen my former baby oh baby something bad should I that's what I wanna kill em all yeah Nigeria is endowed with a lot of natural monuments due to the geology of its location we have the Sahara Desert in the north and the tropical rainforests in the south then the green vegetation in between there are lots of rivers mountains waterfalls and lakes the Atlantic Ocean in the south creates glorious beaches we have exotic results that attract tourists who love nature from all over the world in Nigeria we have three major religious groups Christianity in the south Islam which is predominantly in the north with in the north and the south there are a few people that still practice traditional religions Nigeria is known for its excellence in football so much that football is regarded as our national sports we have professional footballers playing abroad in the English Premier League the Spanish La Liga Bundesliga and many more the most outstanding players of Nigerian football are conmen Wanko George Feeny D jayjay Okocha and many more let dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe was the first indigenous president of Nigeria late Abubakar Tafoya Valera was the first Prime Minister Muhammadu Buhari is our current president late jean-robert was the author of popular novels like teens fall apart that has been translated into many languages while Asia Inca is the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie is one of the most prominent Nigerian authors of today Nigeria is a very welcoming country people from all over the world feel at home in Nigeria Nigerians are known to be very warm and outgoing Nigerians always ready for a party with several street parties and carnivals taking place in the country all through the year we invite you to visit Nigeria you
